About Mortifex
American Metal band Mortifex is the brainchild of vocalist Carl Crosswhite. Forged in the fires of Priest, Sabbath, and Maiden... Cast in the vein of Anthrax, Testament, and Slayer... This eight-song self-titled debut album features relentlessly tight thrash drums, soaring guitar riffs, intense leads, epic lyrics, original vocals, pounding bass, and meticulous production. Band members: Carl Crosswhite - Vocals/Drums/Guitar Arrangements (TECHNICAL ECSTASY, DAMAGE INC), Gregg Carey - Guitars (AUDIOVANGELIST, INDUSTRIAL CORRUPTION UNIT), Oscar Rangel - Bass (ANNIHILATOR, OPERUS, OBEY THE MOON), Josh Seguin-Lead Guitar (PDP, MUTE THE SAINT), Greg Harrison - Lead Guitar (Hed PE, PDP), and was engineered and co-produced by Chris "Wizard" Collier at CMC21 Productions (KORN, FLOTSAM & JETSAM, METAL CHURCH, FEAR FACTORY, PRONG). The band's logo, artwork, and lyric videos were all created by Andy Pilkington of Very Metal Art in London. The album features an HD lyric video for each song too. Since the album's release Mortifex has received amazing recognition, Including worldwide radio airplay, lots of magazine interviews, touring offers, and great reviews from all corners of the globe (including some 10 out of 10). The album reached #40 on the iTunes "Top 100 Albums" chart in Belgium and by the end of 2020 was voted one of the "Best Metal Albums of 2019" by several Metal magazines including Metal Forever and Speed From Hell. Mortifex has already started writing songs for the second release. Oscar Rangel, who played Bass on the first album has now moved over to guitar, to great success.
