About Moonlight Flit

As long time friends who first met while still in high school in Wellington, Moonlight Flit made it official when they wrote their first song Shadows, and felt a strong sense of creativity emerging. Performing at various venues around Wellington, the band has been gaining a reputation for energetic performances with a high level of musicianship. Moonlight Flit take time in writing their music, creating depth that appeals to a broad range of listeners as being intelligent and insightful without becoming pretentious. Reviews from live shows have said: "They all got the crowd standing like a pack of cats just noticing a trio of humming birds. They had a defiant clear sound with Tim’s voice virginally smooth it sounded like no cigarette butt or potent stream of alcohol had grated the satin lining of this guy’s throat." -Sarah H, the Set "...the music and performance was concise and soaring, with interesting chord sequences and rhythms, and plenty of dynamics..." -Charlette Hannah, Wellington Live Music On the 12th of September 2009, Moonlight Flit released their debut album "Road to the Outside" at Bodega in Wellington. The release of the album was a long time coming; the band had recorded "Road to the Outside" at the home of their friend Paul James on weekends between study and other commitments. After working on the album on and off for three years, the album was finally finished and mastered by Steve Smart in Sydney and is now available from amplifier.co.nz, iTunes and selected CD stores.
