About Modris Skaistkalns
As a key participant within the short-lived latvian beat scene, Modris Skaistkalns (Mr Tape) constructed some of the genre's earliest recorded tracks using tape editing and overdubbing rather than proper digital samplers. During the 1990s, he became better known as a member of the commercial pop duo 100. debija. Ever since that band broke up, Skaistkalns has been producing a multitude of latvian pop singers.
