About Modern Giant
Modern Giant were an Australian guitar pop band, based in Sydney, New South Wales. The band formed in 2003 as a side project for the band's four members - vocalist/guitarists Andy Meehan and Gynia Favot and brothers Adam (bass/spoken word vocals/lyrics) and Simon (drums) Gibson. The band's members have also been in projects such as The Aerial Maps, Sneeze, Disneyfist, Half Miler and Fragile. The band released an EP in 2004, entitled A Different Ring in Your Ears. It was followed up by their debut album, Satellite Nights, in 2005; which was released via Popboomerang Records and produced by Simon Holmes, formerly of The Hummingbirds. A video for the single "The Band's Broken Up" was made, and the album received a strong reception from local press. The band parted ways in 2007.
