About Misha Siegfried

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Misha started out with a cello but quickly discovered the joy of 6-strings. By junior high, he had convinced his school buddy Jacob Grun (now owner of Minneapolis Sound Gallery and guitarist for Me and My Arrow) to be his first teacher. Encouraged to hit open mic nights, Misha’s dad began ferrying him to bars where he could not get through the door without adult supervision. Beat up on stage by some of the best blues players in the Twin Cities, Misha finally progressed enough to convince the legendary Moses Oakland to take him on. From 17 until he left the Minnesota at 21, Misha grew under Moses Oakland’s watchful eye. During that same period, he formed and played with several bands, including Blackbeard in Mankato where he briefly studied music at Minnesota State University. Moving to Milwaukee, WI in the summer of 2002, news doors opened. Bands were seeking him out, and he toured with Reverend Raven & The Chain Smoking Alter Boys (Blues), Fire On Your Sleeve (Indie Pop), and The Charles Walker Band (Blues/R&B). When he wasn’t on the road, he was hosting jams and open mics. Recognized as one of the top guitarist in the Midwest, Misha Siegfried had the distinctive honor of leading the house band at the nationally renowned Up & Under Pub for three years. Running the Monday night jams gave him the chance to work with a wide range of musicians at varying levels of accomplishment and expertise, but it afford him the opportunity to use the Up as a living laboratory for developing new and innovative music. In 2013, Misha was a WAMI "Best Guitarist" nominee. 2013 Best Blues band nominee for Shepherd Express "Best Of Milwaukee" 2013 WAMI Best Guitarist nominee.
