His mother was an opera singer/piano player and his father was a singer/church soloist. He continued with classical Conservatory piano lessons until the age of 12 and then picked up his first guitar. Through junior high and high school he also played Trombone, Tuba and Bass guitar in various school stage bands. "Milky" began his professional music career at the age of 15, playing guitar with a Toronto Punk band named The Swollen Members (YES!! THE ORIGINAL ONES!!). His first live gig was in the Horseshoe Tavern, followed by several “underground gigs” at places such as the Turning Point, Shock Theatre and Ontario College of Arts. During the early '80's, Milky worked and travelled western Canada for 4 years, playing gigs with various musicians throughout Calgary, the BC interior and Vancouver. He then returned to Toronto, became a recording artist and played live with various “cover bands” over 20 years at such venues as The Diamond Club, Montreal Bistro, Downtown Browns, Down Under, Centre Island, The Place and Molly Blooms. The debut CD "One Direction" was released at Hugh's Room (Toronto) and internationally in the month of June, 2010. Recent performances have included The Mod Club, The Opera House, Sticky Fingers and Riverside Park (Guelph). "In 2008 I knew it was time to hit the studio and put my thoughts and experiences into my style of “progressive” blues. I’ve always been influenced by the music and guitar playing of individuals such as Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Stevie Ray Vaughn, BB King, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Robert Johnson, Randy Bachman, Jeff Healey and David Gilmour.” Milky has assembled an “ammunition” of performers to suit each venue and adapts each performance from a raw 4 piece to an orchestration of players. Dodge Rogers and other hired Gunz (as required) - Guitar/Lead Guitar / Vocs / Keyboards Milky continues to record in Guelph, Ontario with a variety of musicians and recently released his debut Album “One Direction” and his single “Give Me Your Love” in June of 2010. The music has been released internationally as well. A second CD is currently in the works. Milky also engineers, produces, publishes and provides a mobile recording service through Riff Productions.
