About Mike Westbrook Orchestra

Mike Westbrook Orchestra was a jazz orchestra of varying size led by Mike Westbrook. An 18-piece orchestra (including trombonist Paul Rutherford, pianist Dave McRae, guitarist Brian Godding) was employed for Love/Dream and Variations (february 1976). The Cortege was composed in 1979 and recorded in April 1982 with voices and a 16-piece jazz orchestra. The live album Catania (July 1992) featured a 22-member orchestra.
