Paris born, New York-based singer-songwriter Mike Higbee released his debut album, "Secret Life" on December 9th 2011. The record, produced by Higbee and recorded in Gowanus, Brooklyn (Let 'Em In Studios), draws its influences as much from American indie folk-rock as it does from the swaggering oom-pah and contemplative crooner vocals of 1960s Paris. "Secret Life" muses about love and loss, supported by a variety of textures and instruments, from lush strings to a single street organ, recorded for the album by Higbee in a small church in France. The custom street organ cardboard music sheet took several weeks to make, by hand. It was adapted for his street organ by Jean Bernard Michau, one of Frances 300 or so street organists.
