In the mid-1960s brothers Michael Raven and Jon Raven ran their own folk club from The Gifford Arms in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, also working with flautist Derek Craft as The Black Country Three, who released an album in 1966. Michael Raven also teamed up with singer Joan Mills, at that point the resident singer at The Falcon Folk Club in Stafford. Raven and Mills recorded four albums together from 1972 onwards (the last only released in The Netherlands). Michael and Joan would later work together again in roots trio, Ravenshead.
