About Merrick Winter
Merrick Winter is a British-American artist and producer based in London. Originally from a small Midwestern college town, founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (The Beatles's Guru in the late 60s), he was born into a community of spiritual seekers, to an Anglo-Irish mother and a Texan father, learning to meditate at the age of ten. After relocating to the UK, Winter went on read English Literature at King’s College London. Raised on an early musical diet of Laurel Canyon folk and Irish trad, Winter began playing piano age five, eventually picking up guitar in his teens. After spending a short time at Mannes School of Music in Manhattan, he began writing and producing his own music. Initially influenced almost entirely by the Beatles, he went on to draw songwriting inspiration from Randy Newman, Ry Cooder, Paul Simon, and Joni Mitchell. Profiled by NOTION as a “songwriter and producer to watch”, he has collaborated closely with Ivor Novello winner Victoria Canal, co-producing her latest EP WELL WELL for Parlophone Records alongside Tony Berg (Phoebe Bridgers), S. Carey (Bon Iver) and Grammy-winner Madison Cunningham. Recent Performances include a sold out headline show at Servant Jazz Quarters in London in August, as well as appearances at Fête da la Musique in Paris 2023, and The Brunel Museum in London in support of Brian Eno’s Earth Percent.
