About Melanie Peterson

Saskatoon born, Toronto-based folk/pop/singer-songwriter Melanie Peterson's songs have been consistently praised by listeners and music critics alike for her beautiful voice and exceptional songwriting. Moving to Toronto at nineteen to follow her dream, she came across producer Mitch Girio, thus beginning her musical journey as a recording artist. Melanie is also an actor who's most recent role was on the hit Amazon Prime series “The Boys”. BBC Radio has called her “Mary Poppins with a broken heart” and Bob Mersereau of Top 100 Canadian Blog says “she makes you want to lean in and soak up her stories.” Melanie is proof that hard work pays off. Melanie was recently awarded "Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting" for her song "What You're Selling" co-written by producer Mitchell Girio and was a finalist for her song "Christmas Breaks My Heart" produced by legendary Canadian producer Michael Phillip Woojewoda, from the Great American Songwriting Competition. Her new single "Somebody's Somebody" is a song she wrote alone at a songwriter's retreat during a COVID 19 lockdown about seizing the day and reaching for the love that is waiting for you, before it's too late.
