About Matiah Chinaski
Matiah Chinaski is a Chilean hip‑hop artist whose career began in the late 1990s. He initially gained recognition as part of the group Mente Sabia Crú, founded in 1999 by MC Unabez and DJ Frays. Over time, Chinaski has collaborated with notable Chilean hip‑hop figures like Ana Tijoux, Portavoz, Brous One, Cidtronyck, and Nosecuenta. As a solo artist, Matiah Chinaski has built a reputation for incisive lyrics and expressive delivery. His music fuses hip‑hop beats with themes of personal growth, social justice, and emotional reflection. Since 2017, Chinaski has been a founding member and lead MC of La Brígida Orquesta, a collective blending hip‑hop with big‑band jazz and theatrical performance. Their debut EP came out in 2017, followed by the acclaimed album Corte Elegante (2018), earning nominations at the 2019 Pulsar and Índigo awards (and winning Pulsar’s Artist Revelation). Chinaski is also active on the live scene, performing extensively across Chile in cities like Valparaíso and La Ligua during May 2025. His reach spans both intimate club venues and larger cultural spaces, often accompanied by DJ Pérez and members of La Brígida Orquesta. His discography encompasses solo projects and group collaborations, with La Brígida Orquesta releasing Antípoda (2022) and Música para la inmensa minoría (2023). Meanwhile, Chinaski’s individual works include albums like Laberinto (2016), La Dieta Del Murciélago (2018), and the live release Delivery Tour: Des / Concierto (2021)
