About Maria Voumvaki
Maria Voumvaki lives in Athens,Greece. She studied piano and advanced theory of music at the National Conservatory. She dealt with the implementation of the new music technology (synthesizers, sampler studio techniques) in her compositions. In 1991, at the Kalamata song contest, she wins the first prize with the songs “History and Happiness” and “The end of the Line”. In 1993 her first record was released (“In cities and waves at the same time”) by Sirius, produced by Manos Hadjidakis. Being a composer and a lyricist with an innovative character , she released her second record “Farewell rehearsals” in the end of 1999 by indie label Ankh. In 2007 she brought out her 3rd CD “The terrain of Paradise” by setting to music great Greek poetry. She performs her songs by herself. She has performed live in the music scenes “Metro”, “Aeriko”, “GazArte” and ‘’Kyttaro’’.
