About Marcus X
Marcus X is the moniker of rapper/ producer/ songwriter Marcus Clarke from Leeds, UK. Marcus grew up listening to golden age hip-hop such as Eric B. & Rakim, Run-DMC and Public Enemy in small market town in the North Yorkshire dales and moved to Leeds at the age of 18 where his fascination with sampling was put to use. Marcus X uses a mixture of live instruments and samples to produce warm lo-fi Hip-Hop music with a colloquial twist. On new years day, 2011 he released the album “Ain’t Nowt About Owt” as a free download on bandcamp. The album took 3 years to fully complete, a follow up album is currently in the works.
