About Maja Rivić
Maja Rivić graduated in singing, composition, and arranging from Middlesex University in London. She is the co-founder and lead vocalist of the Mimika jazz orchestra – led by Mak Murtić – with whom she recorded three studio albums and performed at well-known London and Zagreb clubs and festivals, such as the London Jazz Festival, Love Supreme, and Latitude Festival. She has collaborated numerous times with the Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) Jazz Orchestra and recorded a studio album of Murtić’s compositions with them. After spending six years in London, Maja returned to Zagreb at the end of 2016, where, in addition to performing with the Mimika Orchestra, she also performs with the free-improv ensemble MILK, the jazz group Maja’s Jazz Enthusiasm, the Živa Voda collective, and the Jungle Roots Orchestra. Maja is actively performing, writing, and teaching singing.
