About Magnus Effect

Magnus Effect band came up in 2010 when Breno Novaes (piano / synths) and Luan Mattos (vocals) decided to write, produce and record their own songs in an independent and experimental way. The point was to join elements they liked the most and give birth to dense compositions, based on piano and well-shaped melodies. Inspired by bands such as Muse, Massive Atack, Linkin Park and Evanescence, these guys spent a couple of years producing and recording songs, mixing electronic-symphonic with synths and heavy guitars. Such efforts have resulted in a conceptual album entitled “Synesthesis” which contains 11 demo tracks - those demos never saw the light. In order to mature such idea, Magnus Effect started a new production between 2012 and 2013, by trying to record the songs from Synesthesis album professionally. However, the project was given another direction and brand new compositions came to life, marked by stronger hard rock, full-bodied and heavier side. 2014 was marked by the arrival of a new member, Amanda Costa (guitars and drums) and the band was finally ready to record their best tracks, which they worked exhaustively on for 2 years. It has represented a new beginning to the group, besides putting an end to a long wait for their highly acclaimed debut.
