About MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction)
Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD) was the name of an electronic music project founded in Spain by Carlos Delgado and Antonio Torres. The band achieved a fair amount of success in the Spanish independent electronic music scene of the 80's. Their melodic sound was a clear departure from the more industrial and aggressive style sported by many of the artists with whom they shared the pages of the specialized press of that time. Instead, they were much closer to other Spanish bands like Idee Du Femelle, ADSR or Grizz Volga. Their music varies from the purely cosmic, along the lines of Vangelis or Neuronium, to a much more rhythmic sound similar to Ian Boddy's or Mark Shreeve's.
