About Mủn Gỗ
Mủn Gỗ is a Vietnamese independant folk rock & alt-rock band, known for their poetic storytelling and unique blend of acoustic and electric sounds. The band’s name, which translates to "Wood Shavings," symbolizes the raw, organic, and handcrafted nature of their music, reflecting their commitment to authenticity and emotional depth. Formed by a group of like-minded musicians with a shared love for folk traditions and modern rock, Mủn Gỗ draws inspiration from both Vietnamese cultural heritage and global music influences. Their sound is characterized by acoustic-driven melodies, rich harmonies, and lyrical depth, often exploring themes of love, Vietnamese historical legends, and the lives of ethnic minority people in Vietnam's Northwest region. Their first EP Trở Về Miền Kí Ức features tracks that range from introspective ballads to energetic rock anthems, with the hit Mị Châu, which retells the ancient Vietnamese legend of the Magic Crossbow, exploring the internal conflict between a daughter’s devotion and a kingdom’s ultimate betrayal. Since then, Mủn Gỗ has released three albums: Chuyện Chàng Mủn Gỗ (2022), Yêu Và Đi (2023), and lastly Cùng Em (2026). Additionally, the band also produced the OST for the Vietnamese TV drama "Cách em 1 milimet".
