About Lupercais

Formed circa 1993 and finally disbanded in late 90's, Lupercais was a brazilian (Brasilia, Distrito Federal) underground cult gothic band. Mixing early post-punk goth style with a pantheist and traditional romantic sensibility (and also constantly referring to historical marginal heroes and modernist artists), their music revolved around pessimism, anger, despair and depression. They released a bunch of demos with poor recording quality and some more professional tracks for compilations, including two of their most famous songs, "Espectros" and "Funeral". Last line-up: Sydney (vocals), who died at age 28; Fofão (guitar); Marquinhos (bass); Graziele (drums); Tharsila (keyboards). Early line-up was Sidney (vocal), Aline (vocal), Wellington (guitar), Rodrigo (bass), Graziele (drums).
