Luca Pedroni was born in 1979 in Varese. At the age of 9 he began to study the acoustic guitar and at the age of 18 he dedicated himself to the study of the classical guitar, reaching the 5th grade at the music conservatory where he also took exams in harmony, history of music, and musical theory. At the same time he studied electric and modern guitar, taking the Diploma in 2001 at the CPM in Milan. From 2002 to 2006 he collaborated with the Varese group Harddiskaunt whose music is characterised by a mixture of ska, punk, reggae, funky surf and swing, and who have had a certain amount of success in Northen Italy and Canton Ticino. With this band he played on both national and international stages, such as those of Milan, Trieste, Avellino, Bolzano, Lugano, Locarno, La Chaux de Fonds, Baden, and Lindau. He also took part in the recording of their second album “Ed è subito party” (And it’s party time) in 2003 and collaborated as composer for their latest album “La Buena y la mala onda”, produced by Elmo Records and distributed throughout Europe (2006). In the same period he joined the guitar orchestra “Sextha Consort” with whom he participated in various national and international cultural festivals such as the Classical Guitar Festival of Godollo, Budapest, and with whom, in 2006, he recorded the CD “Shopso Troinjo” (produced by m.p.a. in collaboration with Rete Tre (Channel Three) of Switzerland). He also collaborated with numerous jazz and blues groups such as “Sponda Magra SkaJazz”, “Ritmi Blu”, “Brigante’s Connection", and a duet with the singer Dorotea Mele. But his real passion is for fingerpicking and flatpicking with an acoustic guitar and open tunings. Following in the wake of inspirational leaders such as Michael Hedges, Ralph Towner, Pat Metheny, Alex De Grassi, Pietro Nobile, Kaki King, Beppe Gambetta, and Tommy Emmanuel, in 2004 Luca started his own solo project and a year later, in Pietro Nobile’s studio, he recorded his first album entitled “Ottobre” (October), a 45 minute imaginary acoustic journey from “April” to “October”. In 2006 he became one of the fingerstyle guitarists of ADGPA (Atkins Dadi Guitar Picking Association), known for such esteemed musicians as Paolo Cattaneo, Franco Cerri, Gigi Cifarelli, Maurizio Colonna, Paolo Giordano, Walter Lupi, Giovanni Monteforte, Framco Morone, and Pietro Nobile. He has played in the Teatro Nuovo Studio Foce during the EstivaLugano festival, is a permanent guest at the Frankfurt Music Messe as the official endorser at the Schertler stand, he takes part every year in the Acoustic Guitar International Meeting at Sarzana, and he also took part in the first Varese guitar festival “Sulle corde dell’anima” (On the strings of the heart). __________________________________________ Luca Pedroni is a member of IMIsound Independent Musicians from Italy
