About Lol Robinson With Hazey Jane II
Lol Robinson was a member of Hazey Jane, a UK band heavily influenced by Nick Drake who enjoyed some success in the 1980s, although their recordings are now extremely rare and heavily sought after by collectors. Robinson himself dropped out of the music industry for several years, but was persuaded by several musician friends that he should consider recording some of his new material. After a number of successful low-key concerts and support slots, and most significantly the use of his song "The Baker's Lament" in the British film of the same name, he has released "Songs From Lucy's Cottage" with his new band Hazey Jane II in March 2009. Robinson credits his revival to his friendship with acclaimed supernatural thriller author Phil Rickman, who runs his website at www.philrickman.co.uk and who provides some spoken vocals on the album.
