About Lewis & Evans
ROSS LEWIS Born in Oxford, Mississippi, Lewis picked up his first guitar at the age of nine and has been impressing listeners ever since with his unique sound. He started by appearing at the normal round of proms, dances and civic and social events around his hometown that launch most musical career. But is was during a stint in the U.S. Air Force that his career really began in earnest. While stationed in New Jersey he became known as one of that area's top nightclub performers, often singing seven nights a week in addition to holding down his duties back on the base. After his discharge the singer put together a back-up group and started touring almost non-stop, first throughout the remainder of the Northeast and gradually moving into other areas of the nation, continually drawing a strong response from audiences where he appeared. "I truly enjoy entertaining people and more than anything else I believe that comes across on stage. I've always tried to concentrate on delivering a quality performance no matter where I may be, and I think people appreciate it when you put that kind of effort into your show." His love for music has taken him far. He attained national billboard chart recognition in the 1980's and has had four national country hits. One of these songs "Love In Motion" made it to #48 on the billboard charts and was #1 on the national independent charts. He was also nominated for independent male country vocalist of the year. He made several guests appearances on the national network and has entertained coast to coast as well as overseas. His many years performing in Las Vegas and surrounding areas have finished putting the final touches on this smooth traditional country stylist from Mississippi. BUZZ EVANS Born and raised in a small town near the Boston Mass. area, he started his performance career at a very early age. As Buzz continued his career he made a name for himself as one of the most prominent pedal steel guitarists in the world. He is known for his talent and ability on lead guitar, uniquely blending his styles of country, R&B, jazz, pop, blues and soul. He is considered to be a "Musicians' Musician" by many in the musical field. Buzz was recently inducted into the Massachusetts Country Music Hall of Fame. He has performed with some of the most respected names in Nashville including Tex Ritter and Ernest Tubb to name a few. Buzz spent some of his career as a staff musician for Capital Records in Los Angeles, CA as well as a recording tracks for many artists in studios across the country. He has opened for numerous headliners throughout the US and Canada. Buzz does not limit his playing to one genre. Listeners are treated to a variety of music to which he adds his own instrumental versions of many different bags. Buzz values his many years of performing with his close friend Thumbs Carllile. He credits his time spent with "Thumbs" as the greatest musical learning experience of his career. Another friend of his, Lenny Breau influenced his many musical abilities, which has molded him into the musician he is today. For the last 10 years he has teamed with his friend Ross Lewis to form a great duo "Lewis & Evans." They work so well together that it was only natural to take it to the limit and see where fate takes them. I think you will agree it was a good move.
