About Letterbox Tragedy

Letterbox Tragedy was a post-hardcore band from Richmond/Colonial Heights, Virginia, United States. From the ashes of a dying Richmond scene, Letterbox Tragedy emerged as the savior of hardcore and indie fans in February 2006. Formed by singer Steve and guitarist James, Letterbox Tragedy began a rapid ascent to the forefront of the new Richmond scene and never looked back. As one of the best underground bands of 2007, their pulse-pounding style promises to spearhead a new generation of music. With their new EP, Love In The Form Of I.V., they now set out to spread their chaotic views to the masses and impact an even larger fan base than they have already attained. Forged from the fires of relentless effort, their sound is an absolute textbook of human emotion. Singer Steve’s vocals, which range from raw, powerful screams to melodic, heartfelt elegies, are complemented by blistering guitar riffs and solid rhythms. Their shows are infused with energy, driving their fans to rock-induced euphoria. With a blend of inspiring lyrics and powerful songs, Letterbox Tragedy is sure to fill the addiction for thousands of loyal fans. Letterbox Tragedy released their second EP in 2010 “Breathe Beyond Skylines”. Recorded and produced by Cameron Mizell at Chango Studios, (Of Machines, Jamie’s Elsewhere, Sleeping With Sirens, Broadway, Oceana etc.) the EPs wide range of sounds shows all the different influences brought together from every member. The EP and every song is lined with unique personality and relate ability, its own conflict, one off structured and unique conclusions which makes listeners feel satisfied and wanting more. A key aspect that sets this band apart is it does not ride off of the many gimmicks in the music scene or down themselves to a certain genre, they drive off of rock solid structure and sheer songwriting talent that shines on all fives songs on the EP. As Conner, the guitarist states “I'm sure your tired of hearing about the "struggle" of doing what we've done like most bands, so I’ll go on the fact that hard work and dedication to our dreams, to our instruments, and doing it together as a family shines so brightly on the new EP”, "Breathe Beyond Skylines" shows all sides of the band in the most compelling and genuine fashion. There's no doubt they pride themselves off of the accomplishment of putting the EP together but this band isn't stopping anytime soon.
