About Les Batards Du Nord
Les Batards du Nord is a folk band hailing from Ste-Rose du Nord (near Lac St-Jean) in Quebec, Canada. Their songs are mainly inspired by Viking and Norse mythology. The band is also making, in part, their own particular folk instruments. The band is composed of Olivier Hudon (vocals, cittern, jew's harp, irish whistle and drums), Benoit Lavalee (Spermswamp) (percussion, drums, spoons, accordions), Mathieu St-Onge (guitar, cittern, base guitar, chorus, cor), Francis Granger (base guitar, chorus, drums), Olivier Corbeil (transverse flute, back vocals, chorus, guitar), Joelle Hudon (drums) and Dominique Cote (back vocals). The band released their first self-produced record in 2005, entitled "Le fer, la mer, la bière". They released their second album, "La terre nous appelle", in 2008. They are currently working on their third album.
