About LAS ERAS
Las Eras is an experimental electronic / post‑industrial project based in Santiago, Chile, formed in the early 2020s by producer and multi‑instrumentalist A. Serrano and sound artist María Torres. Emerging from the city’s DIY electronic, noise, and digital‑art scenes, the duo blends dark ambient, industrial rhythms, deconstructed Latin‑American percussion, and processed field recordings into a sound that feels both intimate and confrontational. Drawing influence from artists such as Coil, Los Jaivas, Prurient, and early Lotic, Las Eras explores the tension between modern urban life and the ancestral landscapes of the Southern Cone. Their work often incorporates environmental recordings from Patagonia, archival broadcasts, and heavily manipulated acoustic instruments, giving their music a distinctly regional identity. The project first appeared with the EP Las Eras (2022), a raw, atmospheric introduction that circulated primarily through underground electronic communities in Chile and Argentina. They followed with the single “Virginia” (2023), which introduced a colder, more rhythmic direction, and “Incómodo” (2023), a track that showcased their interest in fragmented vocals and industrial textures. In 2024, the duo released Volumen 1, their first full‑length album, expanding their sonic palette with nine tracks that move between glacial ambience, ritualistic percussion, and dense electronic sound design. The album helped establish Las Eras as one of the more distinctive voices in the Latin‑American experimental underground. Later that year, they issued the EP Austral, a focused, darkwave, atmospheric work exploring themes of displacement, memory, and the psychological weight of the southern territories. Its stark production and cinematic sense of space earned the project a small but dedicated international following among listeners of post‑industrial and avant‑electronic music. The La Esclava Mix EP (2024) further demonstrated their interest in reinterpretation and sonic deconstruction. Las Eras performs selectively, typically appearing in art spaces, micro‑venues, and experimental festivals across Chile, Argentina, and occasionally southern Brazil. Their live shows combine electronics, improvised percussion, and projected archival footage, creating immersive audiovisual environments. The duo is currently developing new material and collaborating with other Latin‑American experimental artists. Known for their minimal online presence and strong DIY ethos, Las Eras continues to evolve quietly, letting their music circulate through word‑of‑mouth and the global underground community.
