About Lake Brannigan
Formed in 2008, Lake Brannigan is comprised of three Liverpool lads: lead guitarist Paul Brannigan, bassist Lloyd Denvir-Parry and drummer Jake Rosenthal (son of current Merseybeats drummer Lou Rosenthal). Their eclectic style ranges from reggae to folk to funk, yet Lake Brannigan always manage to be one hundred percent G. The original recording "Get In The Van" combines controversial lyrics with a heart-wrenching score, while the playing of the ever popular "Blue Coat Yob Medley" has been banned in Wavertree Cricket Club due to its sheer filthiness. Lake Brannigan are most proud of "Project X", a track originally meant to have lyrics but was quickly designated as an instrumental because all earthly words pale into insignificance when juxtaposed to such virtuosity. Lake Brannigan live shows can be characterised by their intimacy and raw energy. Not content with merely playing songs, the band like to titillate their audience with such stunts as inviting fans onstage to dance, and have been known to stop the show entirely to conduct a Q&A session with bassist Lloyd. Although currently in hiatus, the Lake Brannigan is hoping to make a comeback this autumn with fresh material and an arena tour in the pipeline.
