About Lainus
Alfredo Ibarra (Lainus) was born in Santiago, Chile, although he has spent a significant part of his life living in other countries. During his childhood, he resided in the US and Argentina, and later work took him further abroad to the Caribbean, New York and onto New Zealand, where he lived until 2008. He is now based in Santiago, but continues to travel for various music projects. His passion and focus has always been music, whether constructing it for his own projects or for collaborations with visual artists and documentary makers. Since his early days, he has been stirred by the music of the different places he has traveled and lived, the insights offered into a culture, a people, a mood, and by the special sounds that evolved from the 80s. These elements contribute directly to his approach to music making today.
