About Ladybirds

There were more than group that recorded as (The) Ladybirds. 1. LadybiRdS is Teeter Sperber and Tyler Pursel, the keyboard player for Gym Class Heroes. Their debut album cames out late summer 2007 on a indie from PA called Creep Records - it's entitled "Regional Community Theater." Handfuls of cool contributors and guest vocalists appear on it. Max Bemis from Say Anything sings on 2 tracks, Matt Pryor from The Get Up Kids sings on 1 track and another track has a chorus of pre-teens singing on it. There are guest vocals from two other frontmen as well - Justin Johnson from Philly area band called The Danger O's and Neil Sabatino from a Jersey-based band called Fairmont. LadybiRdS describe their overall sound as such: "Cyndi Lauper superfan meets (a cupcake pop version of) The Postal Service on diet pills (before Ephedra was banned by the FDA.) 2. Ladybirds were a Danish girl band, known to have performed topless. They were Lonni "Bonni" Andersen, Jeanette (a.k.a. Stine Æbeltoft), Michelle (a.k.a. Noomi Frandsen) and Sussy (a.k.a. Margit Nellemann). A later line-up seems to have been Susanne Petersen (Bass), Pia Thurland (Vocals, Guitar), Lonni "Bonni" Andersen (drums) and Susanne ? (Organ). http://www.pigegruppen-butterflies.dk/18272115 3. The Ladybirds were a British vocal trio that functioned mostly as a session group in the late 1960s and 1970s. The were formed as an offshoot of Vernons Girls by Maggie Stredder with Marian Davies and Gloria George. The Ladybirds are best known for their long association with The Benny Hill Show, and for performing the backing vocals on BBC television's Top of the Pops.
