you can do everything ... is the motto of the guitarist, songwriter and multi instrumentalist Carsten Klatte who is one of the most fascinating musicians of the so called independent black scene. In the Nineties he worked together with Sungod and Cassandra Complex,supported then Goethes Erben, Girls under Glass and Pitchfork on the guitars and finally he played with the liveband of Wolfsheim. He has worked intensively on his solo project Lacasa del Cid since 2005 which is highly motivated and politico-cultural. His last album "Lonestar" carried out many experiments. He combined melancholy folk , country songs with wavepop and electronic music and now he presents his new work "Who killed Barbie" as a genius songwriter. Carsten Klatte,who lives in Berlin now, calls his latest result Neowestern in the style of Neofolk and comes very close to the point. His album "Lonestar" was often compared with Nick Cave , the new album "Who killed Barbie"however could be compared with Leo Cohen or even Bob Dylan Carsten Klatte returns back to his roots with his new album.
