LOSTAGE ("lostage" until 2010) is a Japanese indie and garage rock band which was formed in Nara in 2001. Members: ** Bass & Vocals:五味岳久 (Akahisa Gomi, born November 7, 1979) ** Guitar & Chorus: 五味拓人 (Takuto Gomi, born August 27, 1982) ** Drums & Chorus: 岩城智和 (Tomokazu Iwaki, born October 30, 1979) Ex members: ** Guitar: 清水雅也 Masaya Shimizu; he was in charge of the artwork for album covers and merchandise up to "DRAMA". In 2010, he formed CARD and is currently active in that band) History: 2001: Formed in autumn in Nara, centered around brothers Takehisa and Takuto Gomi. 2002: In spring, they independently released a CD-R sold only at live venues. In July, they released their first demo tape (limited to 500 copies) through Osaka’s VANAI RECORDS. Around the same time, their drummer left the band, and current member Tomokazu Iwaki joined. 2003: Released “DEMO CD” through VANAI RECORDS in July. 2004: In July, they launched their own label “qoop music” under UK Project and released the mini album P.S. I miss you. In November, they held their first one-man live show at Shimokitazawa SHELTER. 2005: While performing over 40 live shows, they began recording their next work in September. 2006: In January, they released their first full album PLAY WITH ISOLATION through UK Project. They embarked on a 26-date release tour the same month, concluding in June in their hometown of Nara. In August, they appeared at major summer festivals such as ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL and RUSH BALL. In December, they held their first one-man live show in two years at Shimokitazawa SHELTER. They also made their first appearance at COUNTDOWN JAPAN at the end of the year. 2007: In May, they held their first-ever two-day live show with 8otto at Umeda Shangri-La. In July, they released their second full album DRAMA through Toy’s Factory, marking their major debut. They then went on the 22-date “DRAMATIC TOUR 2007,” concluding with one-man shows in Osaka (Juso FANDANGO) and Tokyo (Daikanyama UNIT) in September. 2008: In January, they held their self-produced event “SHOWNEN” at Quattro venues in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. After the Shibuya show on January 18, guitarist Masaya Shimizu left the band. Hiroyuki Nakano (formerly of fahners witch and piece pix) joined as a new member. In September, they released their second mini album Beat in the Brain, Love in Sleep through Toy’s Factory. From October 26, they went on the “Treasure Hunt Tour.” Between tour dates, they continued recording, and on November 27, they held a final one-man show at Shibuya Club Quattro. This performance was later broadcast on NHK-FM’s “Live Beat” in February 2009. 2009: In March, they released their third full album GO through Toy’s Factory. Starting in April, they went on the “lostage GO” tour, partly combined with shows tied to the compilation Kill your T.V.. The tour concluded in June with one-man shows in Osaka (Shinsaibashi Club Quattro) and Tokyo (Shibuya Club Quattro). In July, they held “SHOWNEN” in Nara. In October, they joined ASPARAGUS’s “BKTS TOUR ’09” alongside bands like the band apart and COMEBACK MY DAUGHTERS. At the Fukuoka after-party, Takehisa and Takuto performed acoustically for the first time. From November to December, they held “SHOWNEN ’09” across four locations. On November 18, they announced guitarist Hiroyuki Nakano’s departure, which took effect after their December 27 show in Nara. 2010: On January 1, the band changed its name from “lostage” to “LOSTAGE” and became a three-piece. On February 28, they performed their first live show as a trio in Nara. On March 1, they held a free invitation-only show in Tokyo. From March to April, they hosted the “SOWNEN” series in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. In May and June, they toured with ART-SCHOOL on the “BRAIN DEAD 2010 TOUR.” During this time, they released their fourth full album LOSTAGE via AVOCADO Records. They then embarked on a 15-date release tour from June to August, ending in Tokyo. On October 31, they held their self-produced event “Life” in Osaka. In November, they joined five shows of FLAKE RECORDS’ anniversary tour. 2011: On February 13, they held “SHOWNEN” in Nara. From March to April, they began the “SOWNEN TOUR 2011,” but two of five shows were canceled due to the Great East Japan Earthquake. On March 28, they organized a charity event in Nara with other local bands. In April, Takehisa joined Hideki Yoshimura’s acoustic tour. On May 31, they launched their own label “THROAT RECORDS” and opened a YouTube channel. In June, they held “SOWNEN in IWAKI.” In July, they performed an acoustic show titled “Rakuen vol.1” and also held a label launch event. In August, they released their third mini album CONTEXT, followed by an 11-date tour through September. In October, they held “Life 2011” in Osaka. In December, they hosted a release event at LIQUIDROOM in Tokyo, featuring both live performances and a DJ after-party. 2012: They began recording a new work in February. From March to April, they toured with Crypt City. In June and July, they joined ASPARAGUS’s “BKTS TOUR 2012.” On July 11, they released their fifth album ECHOES through THROAT RECORDS, followed by a release tour starting July 13. They made their first appearance at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2012 at the end of July. In October, they held “Life 2012” in Osaka. In December, they concluded the tour with a one-man show at Shibuya Club Quattro. 2013: On April 3, they released their first live album LOSTAGE AT SHIBUYA CLUB QUATTRO. A four-record analog box set followed in May. They performed at ARABAKI ROCK FEST.13 in April. On December 23, they appeared at their label’s year-end event in Nara. 2014: On March 21, they held “SHOWNEN” in Nara. In May, they toured in support of a split 7-inch release with uri gagarn. Later that month, they performed at “Yes, We Love butchers” in Tokyo. In July, they appeared at NANO-MUGEN FES. 2014 in Yokohama. That same month, they toured with KING BROTHERS. On August 6, they released their sixth album GUITAR via THROAT RECORDS, followed by a nationwide tour through October. On October 28, they held “Life 2014” in Osaka. On December 28, they appeared at their label’s year-end event in Nara.
