About Michaelangelo L'Acqua

Michaelangelo L’Acqua is an internationally acclaimed, music lifestyle curator, whose commitment to creating ground breaking, innovative solutions for his clients, marks a successful career that is highlighted by unprecedented achievements in the realm of music, fashion and global luxury brands. Michaelangelo’s career began in 1999, when he and his previous production partner were hired by Tom Ford to be Music Directors of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. Michaelangelo collaborated with Tom Ford to create the musical landscape to match Ford’s design collections, across the runways of Milan and Paris. Beyond the runway, they succinctly defined the sonic brand identity of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent by producing Gucci’s branded music compilation and DJing events. Michaelangelo’s unique curation of the musical landscapes for these major fashion brands led to the creation of Onda, a boutique production company specializing in music production for fashion shows, TV, film and major label records. Founded by Michaelangelo, along with two talented production partners, Onda quickly became one of the most sought after music production teams in the US. Over the next several years, Onda produced hundreds of fashion shows for the runways of Paris, Milan, Berlin, New York as well as expanded their TV commercials credits with major brands like Puma, Old Navy, Cotton Inc. In July of 2009, Michaelangelo was named Global Music Director for The W Hotel Group. His mission? To create a proprietary music platform that clearly defines the sonic identity of The W as it expands its footprint to nearly 60 hotels in North & South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. As a DJ, Michaelangelo is in continuous demand at fashion shows, clubs, and events worldwide. He recently DJed with Giorgio Moroder at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala in Cannes. This month, Michaelangelo will host the Burn Studio DJ Lab – a concept backed by Coca Cola and W Hotels, devoted to finding and cultivating the talents of the world's most promising young DJs.
