Kris Okotie, now Reverend Chris Okotie was born on June 16, 1959 in Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State in South-South Nigeria to Francis Idje and Cecilia Okotie. He was named at birth as Christopher Oghenebrorie Okotie. He is a law graduate from the University of Nigeria, Enugu campus. He was involved in music (pop) with a debut album: I need someone which made him popular He is now a Reverend (Rev. Chris Okotie) founder and senior pastor of Household of God church, located in oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.
