About Koven.
Koven are an English electronic music duo from London, consisting of producer Max Rowat and vocalist, songwriter and DJ Katie Boyle. They are known for music that includes drum and bass, dubstep, melodic bass, EDM and electronic pop. Koven began in 2011, when Rowat started releasing music under the name. Early material included the Wake You Up EP, which helped introduce Koven to the bass music scene. Boyle joined in 2014, adding vocals, songwriting and live performance to the duo’s music. Koven have released music through labels including Viper Recordings, Monstercat, Liquicity, UKF and NCS. Their releases include the EPs Hereinafter, Sometimes We Are, Come To Light, Reality Reach and Higher Ground. Their debut album, Butterfly Effect, was released by Monstercat in 2020, followed by Butterfly Effect (Deluxe) in 2021. Their second studio album, Moments In Everglow, was released by Monstercat in 2025. Koven’s music often combines bass music production with melodic songwriting, vocals and atmospheric electronic elements. Their sound has also been described in relation to cinematic bass music, with a mixture of acoustic and electronic influences. As a live act, Koven are commonly represented by Boyle, who performs DJ sets with live vocals. The duo have appeared at clubs and festivals internationally, while Rowat has remained focused mainly on studio production.
