About Korzeń z Kraju Melchizedeka
Korzen z Kraju Melchizedeka (in English "The Root from Melchizedek's Country") is a Polish christian rap/reggae/rock band that was spontaneously founded by five Jesuit priests in July 2004. Their first LIVE performance took place during Jezuickie Dni Mlodziezy w Swietej Lipce ('Jesuit Days of the Youth' in Swieta Lipka, Poland); then, they played only two songs, i.e. "Iahwe walczy" (YHWH fights) and "Rwij rzemienie" (Tear the Straps). One month later, the band recorded the two songs and added a song "Bitwa" (A Battle) of a punk band named Against All Odds, thereby creating their first single named "Rwij Rzemienie". In 2005, the band recorded their second album named "Radikala". It combines genres that may seem to be completely exclusive, for example, not only 'underground' rap, reggae, dancehall but also soul, r'n'b, electronic goth music or even a combination of techno and punk. The lyrics refer mainly to the Bible but also touch upon such contemporary themes as environmental pollution, terrorism, drug culture, etc.
