knifewound was born in march of 2006 through a chance meeting. two members, ted and tj had been in local metal and extreme acts in the wichita area for a few years however they found drummer brandon through an online message board citing they wanted to play fast and loud. brandon had recently moved to the area and had been in numerous punk and metal bands previously in denver and he shortly contacted the two about meeting up and starting up a band. after jamming together for a couple of weeks they added nick on vocals and played shows for about a year in the wichita area. nick was not into grinding and thrashing so he left the band to pursue nintendo music (seriously) and walker was added on vocals. knifewound put out 2 records and played mostly in in kansas and a handful of out of state shows in oklahoma and texas. walker left the band to pursue another project and local frontman brenden was added to the lineup and the band played for about a year around wichita. walker rejoined the band in brenden's place and the band recorded new material and somewhat changed the overall direction of the band which up until that point was exclusively humor grind a la anal cunt and went more in the crusty political direction. the band continues to play and record and is always on the lookout for shows....and yes they will play for beer.
