About Klaus Wiese
Klaus Wiese (18 January 1942 – 27 January 2009) was a veteran electronic musician and multi-instrumentalist from Germany. A master of the Tibetan singing bowl, he created an extensive series of album releases using them. Wiese also used the human voice, the zither, Persian stringed instruments, chimes, and other exotic instruments in his music. Wiese traveled the Far East for many years studying Sufism and Mysticism which clearly influenced his spiritual music. He was a briefly member of Popol Vuh in the early 1970s, where he played tamboura on the albums "Hosianna Mantra" and "Seligpreisung". Eventually Wiese would move away from krautrock to his own version of long tone ambient music by the 1980s. He is also known for his collaborations with several artists like Al Gromer Khan, Mathias Grassow, Ted De Jong and Oöphoi. Klaus Wiese died on 27 January 2009 at the age of 67, in Ulm, Germany. For history, Klaus will always remain as one of the European masters of ambient music. Official website: http://www.klaus-wiese.com
