Artemy Khaustov (Артём Хаустов) is a composer, music producer, and sound engineer from St. Petersburg, Russia, currently based in Tbilisi, Georgia. His work spans a wide range of genres, including academic, indie, electronic, experimental, and hyperpop, reflecting a dynamic and versatile approach to music creation. Artemy’s musical journey began at the Rimsky-Korsakov Music School, where he studied guitar, piano, and choral art, laying a strong classical foundation. He later pursued radio engineering at St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University, an experience that enriched his understanding of sound from both technical and creative perspectives. This fusion of disciplines shaped his unique style, blending the precision of engineering with the emotional depth of musical composition. Throughout his career, Artemy has been an active figure in the indie and experimental music scenes. He founded several indie bands, the most recent being The Tired Ones, while simultaneously developing his solo career. His talent and innovative approach earned him recognition as one of the winners of the Academy of Sound competition. In addition to his solo work, Artemy played guitar with Keel The Barber and performed as a session musician at events like Екатерина Гордеева’s book presentation and with a Pink Floyd cover band. His performances have graced stages in both St. Petersburg and Tbilisi, showcasing his versatility as both a live and studio musician. With over a decade of experience in choral projects such as Art Sonus and Gamajun, Artemy’s work often reflects a rich, layered vocal texture. His collaborative spirit has led him to work with artists like conductor Vera Slasnaya, singers Elene Gvritishvili and Lyubov Sharomova, and director Liliya Timirzyanova. Artemy has also composed music for diverse projects, including the Anima film presentation, video mapping for Gatchina Palace, games like Epic Apes and SolPlex, and the theatrical production Moose and Firefly. Additionally, he has produced sound for the Homo Deus YouTube channel and collaborated on a podcast with Anna Vilenskaya.
