About Kevin "King" Lear
Kevin "King" Lear was the former lead singer of Gravesend, United Kingdom-based band, The Gnomes Of Zurich. He released the 'Count Me Out' single for Polydor in 1967 before signing to Larry Page's Page One label, where he débuted with the orchestrated soul of '(You Got) The Power Of Love' in 1968, a song formerly recorded by both The Everly Brothers and Mel Tormé two years earlier. Two more Lear singles followed on Page One: covers of Arthur Hamilton's 'Cry Me A River' and Oscar Brown Jr.'s 'The Snake'.
