About Katja Šulc

A singer/songwriter from Slovenia, born in 1983, who moves between various genres, from jazz, chanson, poetry set to music to urban beats. Katja studied music in Slovenia and abroad and was accepted to New School, Jazz&Contemporary music program in 2005. She reached wider audience with her debut album MILA (Sanje, 2008), a project that set to music the poetry of Slovene actress and poetess Mila Kačič. Her second album TWISTED DELIGHT (Celinka, 2013) continues the playful intertwine of music and poetry, this time exploring Katja's own poetic lyrics originating from New York poetry workshops. The music produced by Pier (RootsInSession, BadMood Recordings) is reaching from hypnotic soul to r'n'b, from dubstep to reggae roots and other urban derivatives.
