About Kathy Crinion

Kathy Crinion is a singer/songwriter from Trim Co. Meath. Ireland. Married to William and has three sons Jake, Billy & Adam. Kathy has been singing most of her life and has been gigging with various musicians for most of her adult life. Her influences are diverse they include The Carpenters. The Eagles. Clifford T Ward. Elvis Costello. Dan Fogelberg. Garth Brooks and too many more to mention. Of late she has been listening to singer songwriters such as Taylor Swift & Amy Winehouse, "Can't get you off my mind" is the first release from her debut album which features a very "Commitments" style brass section, a little Amy Winehouse or Van Morrison - esque. The album "Ups, Down's & Merry-Go-Rounds" is due for release December '09. The title for the album comes from a line of a song that Kathy has written with Charlie McGettigan called "Wouldn't change a thing" which she has dedicated to her husband. The album although mostly Kathy's own original songs also has tracks written by Don Baker, Gerry Tully & sees her sing a Duet with Country singer Trevor Smith written by Frank Foley. Recorded at JAM STUDIOS Kells, Co Meath, the album is a mix of pop/rock contemporary music with a twist of American country, there are is some similarity to Karen Carpenter on the slower tracks. The album is produced by Martin Quinn, Musicians who appear on the album include Ken Gillick, Andrew Quinn, John Byrne, Simon Fagan and Kane O' Rourke.
