Junkplanet (see also: Junkplanet 2) was Christopher Alcxxk and John Brainlove (pictured; formerly a member of The $hit / Muscle Bastard and founder of Brainlove Records) making music with a twisted sense of no-fi electropunk fun, mixed with doses of experimental post-rock and soporific electronic squiggling. The debut album, Not If This Was The Last Planet On Earth, was released in mid-2005 by Brainlove Records. The second album, Dial Tone Heart, see a characteristically unpredictable change of direction, and is planned for a cassette-only release in 2006. Junkplanet did a series of gigs in 2005 with people like Kevin Blechdom, Bishi, Kid Carpet, Planningtorock, Max Tundra and No Bra. After a break from gigs, Junkplanet returned to playing live in Autumn 2006 at a Ricochet, Ricochet night in Cardiff with Gay Against You, Team Brick and Husbands.
