About Juez
There are at least two bands named Juez: 1. Juez, a Danish jazz band. 2. Juez, based in Brooklyn, NY, is self-described as "breakbeat klezmer jazz;" they draw on klezmer modes in a unique exploration of jazz and progressive rock rhythms with influences ranging from Yemenite to hip hop. While their compositions are experimental, their sound isn't inaccessibly dissonant. It is this formulaic blending of styles and their exciting ridiculous antics on stage that gives this group such a wide appeal. Juez has performed with artists as diverse as: Satlah, Educated Consumers, Mattisyahu, 302 Acid, MC Son of Nun, and Gutbucket at locations ranging from the Hillel International, Art-O-Matic, Modular Mood Klezmer party, the Jewish Folk Arts Festival, University of Maryland, Harvard and The Knitting Factory.
