About Jorge Rivera-Herrans
Jorge "Jay" Miguel Rivera-Herrans is the creator of EPIC: The Musical and the founder of Winion Entertainment LLC. He played the roles of Odysseus, the Winions, and Polyphemus. Jorge was raised in Dorado, Puerto Rico. He went to school at the University of Notre Dame, where he wrote the musical My Heart Says Go and began working on EPIC: The Musical. He first started working on EPIC in June of 2019 in his college dorms. He wanted to create a musical that was inspired by video games and anime/manga to "emulate their addictive sense of progression". He was heavily inspired by these forms of media and its effects are seen throughout the musical. However, arguably based on the themes and presentations, Epic is probably better classified as a rock opera.
