About Jonas Steur Feat Julie Thompson
Born in 1982 in Belgium. Born for the night... Jonas Steur has become a familiar name in the trance scene the last few years. With several big hits like “Tales from the south”, “Castamara” , “Second turn” and “Fall to pieces” , just to name a few , and remixes for all the major labels in the trance scene, he did his part for the melodic yet progressive minded side of trance. He's allergic to supersaws and minute long snare rolls and doesn't shy away from playing techno and house in his sets nowadays. "Trance is able to get rid of it's lousy image if the diversification which is noticable right now keeps going on. With techno , trance and house growing closer to each other again it looks like the future will bring a time where the thinking in boxes which destroys the edm scene nowadays finally stops. Trance can be anything from tribal beats to minimal bleeps, melodic bliss and deep dark moody grooves" according to Jonas. Playing all arround Europe Jonas keeps on sharpening his dj skills and entertains the crowds with diverse sets featuring trance in the broadest sense of the word. 2006 especially was a breaktrough year with Jonas playing on several very high profile events like asot 250, tomorrowland and lots of both huge and intimate gigs all over the continent. Entering at a 130th place in the controversial dj mag list at the end of 2006 proved that the buzz was and still is growing. 2007 is the year where Jonas took the next step: His first artist album 'Born for the night' was released and Jonas showed that he is more than just the 'melody man' delivering a very versatile 2cd package. Both singles took from the album made an impact, 'Level up' on the dancefloors and 'Fall to pieces' with Jennifer Rene just about anywhere the trance scene reaches. In 2008 Jonas continues searching for the perfect balance between floor impact and melodic elements resulting in a steady stream of new singles , for example ' The night is young' with Leon Bolier , 'Call it whatever you fancy' and planned for september : 'Cold winds' featuring Julie Thompson. This is also the year where he finally starts his own monthly show : 'breakout', together with his younger brother Simon Steur . No slowing down, Jonas feels this is still the beginning...
