About John O' Banion
John O'Banion (16 February 1947 – 14 February 2007) was an American vocalist and actor born in Kokomo Indiana. His song "Love You Like I Never Loved Before" was a hit single in 1981 from his self titled debut album on Elektra, and the song made it to #24 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. His career really took off in Japan where he released additional material that went unreleased stateside. Prior to his solo albums, John was a 70's era vocalist in NBC Tonight Show orchestra leader Doc Severinson's band Today's Children and made five appearances on Carson's "Tonight Show", as well as appearances on The Merv Griffin and Mike Douglas' shows. He also appeared on American Bandstand, Solid Gold, and was the winning singer of the pilot of Star Search. His last album was 1995's "Hearts" and sadly O'Banion died in 2007 a few days shy of his 60th birthday, due to complications from a head injury.
