About Joanne Vance
Joanne Vance is an Ecuadorian singer, guitarist and composer. She was born in Quito on March 26, 1981. Joanne Vance´s music blends pop, rock, jazz and blues providing a unique alternative fusion with lyrics that explore themes such as journeys, love, reflections on humanity and society in general. Her music is influenced by artists such as Jeff Buckley, Ani Difranco, Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Luis Alberto Spinetta and Pedro Aznar. In 2009 Joanne Vance released her first album Silencios incómodos with which she won the award for “Best upcoming artist 2008” in the alternative pop category in the MIS BANDAS NACIONALES award ceremony in Quito. Silencios incómodos incorporates some of Ecuador’s best known musicians such as producer and guitarist César Galarza and musicians Ivis Flies, Sebastián Schmiedl, Isaac Zeas, Michel Ferré and Daniel Mancero, among others.
