About Jiyuna
Jiyuna is a DIY hardcore band based out of Fort Myers, Florida, with a sound defined by increasingly eclectic influences, but most specifically a core of "screamo" (perhaps better defined contemporarily as "real screamo") and metal sounds. Line-up changes (including three different singers) have put into even starker contrast their musical progression throughout their six or so releases (including a demo tape, a split 7" with Standing Tall, three full lengths, and a discography of the non-cd releases and miscelleneous tracks). Current and ex-members have been associated with a number of other bands including merkit, this tragic hero, and whenallelsefails. Members of the band also run/ran IFB records/distro, what the fuck happened to tapes? records, and Rising Tide Records, an indie record store in Cape Coral, FL (which has since closed). The band has been fairly inactive in 2006.
