About Jeremy Irons and the Ratgang Malibus
Swedish fourpiece JEREMY IRONS AND THE RATGANG MALIBUS was originally formed around 2004, with a core line-up of Karl Apelmo (vocals, guitars) and Mikael Pettersson (guitars). They scored a demo, had some live gigs and quite a few line-up alterations. Around 2005 they more or less disbanded however, the fluid line-up situation and the various members attachements to other band projects taking it's toll. The bassist at the time moving to Gotland described as the proverbial last straw. But in 2007 the ball started rolling again. Pettersson got to know Viktor Källgren, a bass player. With the remaning members of the band from 2005 still around JIRM resurfaced. An EP was made and released in 2009 (Elefanta), and after scoring a demo the band got in touch with Swedish label Transubstans Records and asked if they might be interested in releasing a full album containing that type of music. They were, and JIRM subsequently hit the studio to record a full album's worth of songs. The end result was issued as Bloom in May 2011, to a generally positive reception.
