Jimmy Vivino - Acoustic, electric & National steel guitars Al Kooper - Mandolin, piano, Wurlitzer piano, Hammond B-3 organ, synthesizer Harvey Brooks - Bass Anton Fig - Drums In 1992, rock and blues legend Al Kooper and guitarist Jimmy Vivino put a band together to play some dates at The Bottom Line club in New York City. The result, "The Rekooperators," featured Kooper on keyboards and vocals, Vivino on guitar and vocals, Anton Fig on drums and long-time Kooper collaborator Harvey Brooks on bass. Shortly afterwards, the MusicMasters label approached Kooper to record an instrumental album for them. The result was 1994's Rekooperation. The line up for the album was "The Rekooperators" plus The Uptown Horns. The Rekooperators next appeared on Kooper's 1995 double live album, Soul of A Man. 1997's Do What, Now?, was released under "Jimmy Vivino and the Rekooperators". In 2006, the DVD "Al Kooper & the Rekooperators" (Amazon ASIN B000E3LCQ4), a PBS taping of a Rekooperators 2004 live performance, was released. Mike Merritt had replaced Brooks on bass by this time. More information about the Rekooperators is available at both Jimmy Vivino's website and Al Kooper's website.
