About Jeremy Keen

Jeremy Keen has just released his first full-length solo debut album entitled False Starts on Ground Vinyl Records. This album captures Keen's raw emotion using beautiful arrangements and a wide range of instrumentation. Jeremy recorded much of the record himself at his house, playing most of the instruments too. Keen says, "The idea in making this record was to capture the reactions I had to the life changing experience of a tragic death in my family. All of the songs on this album are very personal and I wanted a medium to expose my thoughts as a way of coping with this tragic situation. This record helped me grieve. Hopefully, others will find comfort in the fact that although there is suffering, there is also hope." Although this is Jeremy's first solo record, he is no newcomer to the music scene. He may be best known for playing in Chicago's popular folk-rock outfit, Seventy Two Others with friend Mike Reeb. The duo released a series of records and EPs on the Ground Vinyl Records label and performed with the likes of Denison Witmer, Andy Zipf, Pete Krebs, Sleeping at Last, and Switchfoot. In addition to Seventy Two Others, Jeremy has been involved with a few other projects including The Verse who released the Love/War 7" in May, 2003. He also performs with the Paul Taneja band and played guitar and sang backup on Paul's 2006 release City Nights. He is also featured singing and playing banjo on Andu Bemis' new record Rail to Reel available on Ground Vinyl Records. To contact Jeremy regarding booking inquiries: email jeremy@jeremykeen.com
